These self-reported surveys found ‘Past-month cannabis use’ saw a sharp increase among older married white women, who graduated college, earning over $75,000 a year, and those living in states where medical cannabis is legal.
Ooooofta– that was a mouth full, let’s unpack it shall we? Older, college educated, cougars have reported using more cannabis when residing in a legal state. Legalization is giving more people the green light to toke up!

Another significant increase was seen among those identifying as a race other than White, and use rose from 1.6% to 7.4%. In almost every demographic, there was a self reported increase in cannabis consumption, but the largest was in this group of women!

The older generation is becoming wise around weed, and are turning to legal forms of edibles, tinctures, and tonics for relief as well as relaxation.
Slowly we’re helping change the stigma around cannabis to self care. The Golden years are looking a lot GREENER, and frankly– it’s about time.
